Where's My Hat?

He's lost his hat. Can't find it anywhere. Hmmm, where did it go?

River Rats

The two nephews on the Buffalo River, last week.

x

Temporary Obsession

I was so tired, last night, that I couldn't think of anything to draw. All I could think of was going to bed.

So...

More Of a Cartoon Than a "Legitimate" Drawing

I try to leave the cartoons to my comics, but I was on the road and bone-tired when I drew this. It pertains to a delay I experienced on the way home from Tennessee.

I'll put the details on Two Wheels, soon.

x

Early Grinder

I left this one in pencil, because I knew that inking it would not improve it.

It looks a little more like my daddy than I planned, which is understandable since this from a photo of his daddy.

(Yes, we are Southern.)

Mulder

No... wait... Skully!
x

Basket Bike

" Is this what you want?" I asked.

I'm doing a drawing for my cousin Carol, and needed a reference.

The Artist as A Young Man

My nephew, Sean, drawing in his sketchbook at my parents' house.

x

Dinner

I pretty much live on energy drinks, Diet Coke and peanutbutter snack crackers when I'm on a long motorcycle trip.

High-Wheeling

I miss riding my Penny Farthing. I may have to take a tour on it when I get back from Tennessee.

No posts for the next week, while I'm out of town. But, I'll still be drawing, and I'll post the pictures when I get home.

He Doesn't Have a Prayer

Not after the Mrs. gets ahold of him, anyway...

Boo yah!

I won't tell you who this was originally supposed to be. As I drew it, I suddenly realized that I was drawing Al Pacino, so I just switched gears. I'll try the other guy again, later.

Shadows

Another one of those which didn't really turn out as I wanted it. But, interesting, all the same.

Another Bird

I like the Clark's Nutcrackers. I don't see them much, around here, but I see them up in the mountains, quite a bit.

Sparrow

I have a lot of these little brown sparrows around the house.

Venus

Every time I see the Venus de Milo, I think of a book I read (and reread a number of times) called "The Phantom Toll Booth". The hero of the story was named Milo.
I love that book, and highly recommend it, especially if you are at all interested in how language works.

Fossil Fish

Here's another one I think Sean Strain will like.

Everain

My self-propelled lawn sprinkler. I love watching this thing creep along, following the garden hose as the wands spin around throwing water across the grass.

I guess I'm easily amused.

Peru

Machu Picchu is probably not the best choice for a 30-minute sketch. I could spend a week on this and never get enough detail in it to do it justice.

And, I think I need to stick to black and white. The scanner just doesn't pick up the watercolor pencils that well.

Egypt

In the early 1900s, the Sphinx at the Great Pyramids of Giza was almost completely buried in the drifting sands.
